Chaos in my head

WE are going away for a week, but feels I need to take stuff for a life time. Why, well I am travelling with one child. Only one child. Wonder what it would be like if your travel with 2 or more.

It started with booking the tickets. Mr. P. said lets take the cheapest ones, no luggage, just a bag. And I said...we are travelling with Annemay. ah.... since it doesnt really matter anymore than, you starts looking into the times. Wondering if you can book the times where she will hopefully sleeping and not running up and down the corridors....mothers nightmares. Do not get me wrong I love her and she will probably behave, but I just keep the worst in mind.

Packing last year - this year I will be doing this when she is at the creche, otherwise she gets anxious. She does that when she senses something is gonna happen.

New spot in town - Pippa's

I love living in Haarlem, close to Amsterdam, close to the beach, close to dunes and greens. Also its such a child friendly city. Many playgrounds outside and inside!

We have Meneer Paprika in the city center, we have Mini Markt in Bloemendaal (5 minute drive) and now we have Pippa's at the train station. Lunch and dinner while kids are playing with trains and have place to read and make art. Love it! Places where I get to hang out with friends, having coffee or wine and the kids can run around and play. Unlike many places where they have to sit still at the table. Which is an impossible task with A, who loves to run wild and free and will make a dramatic scene.

DIY Fall

Seeing all those chestnuts on the ground it reminded me of my childhood. I loved making things as a kid (still do;-)) and wanted to do something with miss A. Which means mama is making something and A sort of helps taking them apart and mess them up. 

I decided to make some spiderwebs with them and collected wool and some fabric and made a few. Not to bad.

All you need

> some toothpicks

> different colors of wool

> and/or some fabric

 

a day at the beach

The other day we went to the beach. I was very curious whether Annemay would enjoy it. Since the last time we went it took her about an hour to even touch the sand with her feet.
She loved it, plenty to see and she loves hanging out with the three of us. I have good hopes for out little upcoming holiday in Portugal :-).

We went to IJmuiden, takes us about 15 minutes by car.  Its a smaller cosier beach and not so crowded as Zandvoort or Bloemendaal. And there is a playground in the beginning of the beach, which is perfect for (little)kids.

Rainy days equals baking cookies

Now my little girl is getting bigger is has become more fun doing things with her because there are more things to do :-). She understands more and loves to do stuff with me. Mostly she loves dancing with mum and dad and wrestling with us. Every day you see changes. A new word, new things she does, things she understands, I am amazed and happy to see them.  Also saying lets go home, or even a sentence with the word home, she will start waving to everyone and gets all excited. Have to be careful saying this word when I am somewhere else, because she will grab her chance and  gets frustrated when we do not go.

Yesterday was a rainy day so I decided to bake cookies with her, the healthy kind, more or less ;-) a variation to the ducth "sandcookies". (butter, flower and sugar). We made cookies with spelt flour, coconut blossom sugar, coconut rasped and butter (was out of coconut oil). They did not turn out bad, a bit burned, so I need to alter the time and heat somewhat next time. She had fun, mostly by eating the cookie dough, However it entertained her for 15 minutes. I call that a success!

Come back

I keep on saying the same, I am back. But then I lack inspiration and do not post.
But I am gonna give it another go :-)

Trying hard to figure out what I should do with my blog. Which direction I shall take. Its been a rollercoaster since I became a mum to a beautiful energetic little girl. I also wanna change the layout, so I have some serious thinking to do. I would like to write again because I love to, not because I have to. I would like this to be my outlet, my inspiration, my joy and something I love to do again.

Kloo Booso

Sometimes you come across a brand for kids clothing and you wish they would come in Adult Sizes. Seriously! I actually emailed them asking if they would make adult size clothing and yes, this summer they will have some in adult size. I cannot wait!

Valentines day is coming up and sweet Esther  mama to a beautiful boy from this lovely blog From Ezter with love (check it out) is has decide to rename this day to liefjesdag (day of loved ones).

Manon Juliette

Much to Mr. P. annoyance I am always thinking of rearranging en changing our interieur. AS a kid I would change my room several times a year. I had a bed, desk and kabinet attched to eachother as one furniture piece. I would seperate the pieces and move them around, only have 2 pieces attached, or all three seperated. Built tents, reading corners, loved it.

Mr. P however is not always as keen to my never ending urge to change things, There are so many nice things out there. Although I need to stop mixing to many styles, to the point it doesn't fit:-)

Happy new year lovely bloggers. Hope you all had great holidays! May all your wishes come true in 2014.

We have been to Switzerland for Christmas, pics will follow, absolutely y beautiful there and new years eve we spend home, just the three of us.

One of the things I love about this season is buying presentes for others and especially now for my baby girl. Problem only is I like a lot :-). I love seeing peoples smiles and happiness when they open my presents. I spend a lot of time on selecting them. I know its crazy, but i love doing it.

One of the presents was "lange Leo" (long leo)  a dolls made bu Suusssies. So cute and Annemay loved it. She als makes these adorable bowties. On my wishlist.

Hello ya'll

its been a long time. I have been busy adapting to my new life being a mum. It;s hard, but I love it. My little girl is a hand full, has a temper like her father, no patience and makes me smile and love her more every day. Its a little miracle, hard to believe we made her.

But I have been missing this, so time to pick up where I left off. Tîme to write, to explore the blog world and to be inspired.

I have been busy on Instagram, its become an hobby. I met several beautifull people on IG and in real life (mostly mums) and it has been inspiring.

One mum I follow on IG is Esther from Urban Mums. Via her lovely blog I found this : Suuz: Design your own 3D jewerly. OH my...its definately on my wishlist (like everything else;-)). I especially love the nylon editions. Also available in silver and gold.

Studio Escargot

I keep telling myself, Annemay will like this, it will be her favourite one. I love buying books and toys for her.  I do not have much (yet) as I have my eyes set on specific items. I already got her a blabla kids doll...only took me about a few months to decide which one...and now I have my eyes set on these cuties: Studio Escargot dolls. 

I wanna have one made with the suit Annemay wore when she was born. She still fits in it, so I have to wait a bit. These cuties are made by Sophia Smeekens and are becoming a real hit. Many mums on instagram have already gotten 1 or more for their baby girls. She is having a give -away, so go have a look here.

Funny how life changes in an instant, one minute you are a couple and the next you are a small family.

My days are filled with feeding, changing nappies, singing and washing (lots of washing:-)). No more extensive cooking & baking. In the future again I hope :-). For now I have an adorable little girl to entertain who is smiling more and more each day and has new noises every single day. I think she has a portuguese temper, she already has mood swings, definately from papa' s side:-)

I have developed a crush on Instagram, you will find me daily there...so inspirational, you find recognition with other mums and I love peeking in other people' s lives. My name there is jbeerepoot, should you wanna look ;-).

Via IG I found Zilverblauws blog (see here) and the great posters she makes and a very yummy egg-advocado salad. She makes beautifull pictures. I bought one poster of her posters: Never Grow Up...:-). Looks great in Annemays room. (For the salad recipe look here.)

Sun is shining

So happy, finally the sun has decided to come out and bring us warmth, its finally spring.

Last Sunday we went for a bicycle ride and spent some time along the canal enjoying the view and weather. Making plans for maybe going the France to visit some family before I go to work, future bicycle trips and our holidays in Portugal this year. Its a busy and exciting year!

Annemay

Hello everyone,

it has been ages since I have been here...sorry for that. The last weeks of pregnancy my mind was elsewhere :-) and these first first weeks were a rollercoaster, a new adventure.

March 1st I became mama to a beautifull babygirl we named Annemay. Today she is 7 weeks and has her own little personality. Starts to smile, new noises, very curious and knows what she wants (even though I am at a total loss as I have no clue what she wants sometimes :-).

I will try to start posting more often again and I have so much catching up to do. Hope all is well with everyone!

Piano stairs

Unfortunately i got sick over the weekend, but slowly recovering again!! Its raining and snowing, so no weather to go outside anyway.. Found this video and its brilliant. Would love to be able to walk on these!
